On November 18, 2025 Bishop Joensen dedicated eighteen “Saints of the Americas” Icons during a special “Saints of Americas Blessing Mass” at Saint Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church. These eighteen Icons represent various Saints who have fulfilled their ministry in the Americas. We are familiar with the Saint Icons of the Blessed Mother, Apostles, and Saints of Europe. However, we are less familiar of those Saints of the United States and the Americas. The blessed Icons are now on permanent display at Saint Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church 4600 Meredith Drive Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Please feel free to visit us for this rare opportunity to see and venerate blessed Saint Icons. We are open on Saturdays and Sundays before and after Mass, and weekdays Monday-Thursday 9 to 3pm. Our Saints of the Americas brochure is available in the gathering area of the Church or online below.
